Elite Executive is seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our client, Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council (NPARC), in Bamaga, North Queensland. As a key member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for managing the preparation, review, and analysis of annual budgets for all Council work areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation, review, and analysis of annual budgets for all Council work areas.
  • Provide budget advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in implementing best practice budgeting processes and maintaining financial system accuracy.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports, including statutory reports, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with financial reconciliations, system troubleshooting, and support during staff absences or high workloads.

Requirements:

  • Relevant professional tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of budget preparation, review, reporting, and advising internal stakeholders on budget matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial IT systems, including budgeting and internal management reporting.
  • Experience in the use of Practical Computing System (PCS) and professional accounting body membership (CPA or CA) would be a plus.
