Aerodrome Reporting Officer Opportunity

BA Aviation specialises in delivering tailored consultancy and operational services across aviation environments, including Wildlife Hazard Management and Airport Environmental Planning.

We are seeking a dedicated Aerodrome Reporting Officer with a passion for aviation safety and wildlife management for an opportunity at Newcastle Airport.

This role offers the chance to develop skills in a dynamic environment through internal training and support. You will be responsible for actively managing wildlife airside to mitigate risks to aviation operations, collecting and maintaining accurate data on wildlife activity and management measures, and liaising with clients to provide timely updates and expert advice.

About the Role:

As part of our team, you will uphold high standards of ethics, safety, and operational excellence. You will have a strong understanding of wildlife behaviour and its implications for aviation safety, as well as field experience demonstrating situational awareness in airside and aircraft environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of wildlife behaviour and its implications for aviation safety
  • Field experience demonstrating situational awareness in airside and aircraft environments (desirable)
  • Experience or confidence with radio communications, ideally VHF (Ground and Tower)
  • Qualifications such as Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) or Work Safety Officer (desirable)
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Firearms Licence (Category A & B) – highly desirable or willing to obtain
  • Eligibility to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • CASA Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) or the ability to obtain one
