About Our Facility:

  • The hospital serves as Tasmania's premier referral hospital and primary teaching institution for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine.
  • We offer comprehensive medical and surgical services, including pediatrics, obstetrics, and psychiatry, standing as the state's tertiary trauma center.
  • Our Emergency Department caters to over 75,000 patients annually, admitting more than 35% of cases and a paediatric workload of 20%.
  • We provide a dynamic setting for healthcare professionals, being a Stage 4 accredited site for both adult and paediatric emergency medicine, offering 36 months of training with ACEM or two years of advanced training under the pre-2022 program.

Requirements:

  • General or unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to work with vulnerable people (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
