Maintenance is a crucial aspect of any laboratory, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and processes. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at our sample preparation facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance, repair, and organisation of work onsite, including new project work as required. This role involves liaising directly with site management, external contractors, suppliers, and purchasing teams to ensure efficient execution of tasks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with site management to schedule work and meet demands;
  • Ensuring machinery is in good repair and fit for purpose through ad hoc repairs and maintenance;
  • Supervising a small maintenance team and scheduling work to meet demands;
  • Maintaining high safety standards by ensuring work is carried out safely and staff are adequately trained;
  • Carrying out pre-start meetings, documenting daily progress, and handing over to managers for processing;
  • Purchasing and maintaining stock levels of machine/component consumable stock levels and liaising with site management for monthly expenditure;
  • Ensuring site appearance, including lawns, paths, and rubbish disposal;
  • Organising scrap steel recycling as required;
  • Minimising parts usage and waste;
  • Daily maintenance of tanks-filtration systems.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong commitment to safety and ensuring your team's safety;
  • Relevant trade certificate preferred;
  • Current driver's license (A class) manual;
  • Current forklift license;
  • Ability to weld;
  • Microsoft experience;
  • Knowledge and skills in other trades or a desire to learn;
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent work ethic;
  • CAN-DO attitude;
  • Drive to develop and lead a team of maintenance staff;
  • Ability to communicate across all levels;
  • Proven ability to handle diverse workload.
