About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Assistant to join our team at Fletcher Building. As a Category Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Category Manager in maintaining and implementing a category strategy that maximises value while supporting customer needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Category Manager in developing and implementing category strategies that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to foster strong relationships and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Ensure system data integrity by maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the Trading Agreement Database.
  • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Champion business improvement initiatives within the Category Team.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of sales team and operations functions to ensure category solutions align with business requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of distribution-based business processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong planning, coordinating, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, with a strong understanding of Excel and data analysis.
  • Possess a graduate-level qualification in a related field, with demonstrated experience in a similar capacity.
