Key Responsibilities- Personal Care and Assistance: Provide daily living assistance, personal care, and social support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Empowering Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages individuals to reach their full potential and participate in community activities.
- Housekeeping and Meal Preparation: Assist clients in maintaining a clean and safe living space, including light housekeeping and meal preparation, to promote their independence and dignity.
- Community Access and Support: Support clients in accessing community resources, transportation, and social activities, helping them to build relationships and participate in their community.
- Health and Medication Management: Administer medication and monitor health conditions, as directed by healthcare professionals, to ensure the well-being of clients.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document and maintain accurate records of client progress, care plans, and any incidents, ensuring continuity of care and compliance with regulations.
- Cultural Sensitivity and Respect: Demonstrate sensitivity and respect for cultural diversity, personal preferences, and individual needs, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care and provide emotional support and companionship.
- Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies and crisis situations with appropriate care and intervention, prioritizing the safety and well-being of clients.
- Confidentiality and Ethics: Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality regarding client information, respecting their privacy and dignity.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the well-being of clients and yourself, promoting a safe and healthy environment.
- Hold a Certificate III in Community Services, Individual Support, Disabilities, or similar.
- Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher).
- QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- NDIS Worker Check (Yellow Card).
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
- The ability to work a mixture of day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
