Job Overview
\The Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll tax processing, maintaining compliance with government regulations, and providing exceptional service to internal stakeholders. This position oversees various aspects of payroll tax compliance, including but not limited to:

- Reviewing Workday Payroll Tax setup for each legal entity and jurisdiction, identifying issues and collaborating with Alight Tax Filing Services and HRIT to update and correct.\
- Performing thorough reviews of the monthly/quarterly tax filing package to ensure accuracy and timeliness.\
- Working closely with Payroll Accounting to guarantee alignment and reconciliation with G/L.\
- Managing and reconciling payroll taxes at the employer and employee level, ensuring timely remittances to tax authorities and accurate reporting of withholding taxes.\
- Reconciling QTD and YTD tax amounts withheld, reported, and deposited on a quarterly and annual basis for assigned entities.\
- Managing SUI rate updates, ensuring they are up-to-date in Workday.\
- Completing and submitting applications for new tax jurisdictions and closing jurisdictions.\
- Researching and resolving payroll tax notices for multi-state tax entities, escalating issues as needed, and maintaining a strong delivery record.\
- Supporting internal and external audit data requests, preparing materials for tax provisions at year-end and for tax audits.\
- Partnering with Payroll Accounting to research any open G/L items, identify new risk areas, and ensure full compliance.\
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, working independently and collaboratively, and communicating the benefits of tax initiatives.\
