About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to join our team in the City of Port Phillip. As an Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems within the city's parks, gardens, reserves, and streetscapes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality irrigation services to ensure the health and well-being of the city's green spaces.
  • Audit, manage, maintain, and improve irrigation systems to optimize water efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
  • Ensure public health and safety are not compromised in the delivery of irrigation and water management services.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and inform irrigation programs, work programs, and reporting.
  • Prepare, implement, and regularly adjust irrigation programs, auditing schedules, and other related tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of works performed and provide regular reports on irrigation auditing, works undertaken, and asset condition.
  • Investigate and resolve irrigation-related issues and faults.
  • Ensure pre- and post-irrigation audits, mark-outs, and repairs are completed in a timely manner for events and other works.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in irrigation and maintenance and repair.
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, programming, and repairing irrigation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret irrigation drawings and plans.
  • General plumbing experience (desirable).
  • Strong team orientation and motivation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current Victorian Driver's License.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Working With Children Check.
