About the Role

The successful candidate will work within the Clayton Emergency Department as part of the Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Hub model of care, providing specialist clinical care and leadership. This position supports individuals presenting to the emergency department with complex behavioural health and psychosocial needs.

  • Key responsibilities include providing assertive support through timely assessment, therapeutic interventions, and short-term outreach for up to 28 days post-discharge.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential, including ED clinicians, peer support workers, and community agencies to promote safe transitions of care and strengthen community linkages.
  • Leadership, supervision, service coordination, and active engagement in recovery-oriented practice are also key aspects of this role.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of seven years' experience in mental health settings, with leadership experience in alcohol and other drug (AOD) settings.
  • An Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited Bachelor Degree or entry level Master's Degree of Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the AASW.
  • Current eligibility for AASW membership.
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
