Underground Production Engineer

Mining Employment Services is seeking a highly skilled Underground Production Engineer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing the safe recovery of the resource through accurate design of stope shapes, drilling plans, and blasting plans to deliver the mine production schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Geology and Geotechnical teams to enhance stope design for maximizing recovery and safety;
  • Create safe work plans for vertical development, including stope slotting and raiseboring;
  • Design stope long hole drilling plans to optimize drilling efficiency and support operators with the execution of drill patterns;
  • Identify suitable locations for underground waste backfilling and develop plans for safe tipping;
  • Prepare and issue preparation and charge plans, while conducting QAQC activities;
  • Drive business improvement initiatives to enhance the mining cycle;
  • Lead improvement projects as directed by the Senior Production Engineer;
  • Work closely with the mine planning team to identify opportunities for optimizing the execution of the 12-week mining schedule;
  • Collect, manage, and analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities;
  • Conduct primary and secondary ventilation surveys as needed;
  • Track daily and weekly mine plan compliance to ensure adherence to the schedule.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary Degree in Mining Engineering;
  • Experience in mechanized underground mining;
  • Competent using Deswik and Ventsim;
  • Ventilation, project, or infrastructure experience;
  • Short-term scheduling experience.
Experience:

4+ years of experience in underground gold operations.

Location:

FIFO Perth 8:6.
