Position Overview

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Permanent Fugal Operator at Invicta Mill. This role requires a commitment to continuous shift work, including weekends and potential overtime during the Crushing Season (June - December). The position primarily operates during the day with regular days off on Fridays during the Maintenance Season (January - May).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development.
  • Prioritize safety for themselves and their colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly via telephone and two-way radio.
  • Work alongside Maintenance Teams as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the Shift Coordinator regarding operational performance.

Main Duties During Crushing Season

  • Produce Raw Sugar and C seed/magma that consistently meets customer quality and technical specifications.
  • Ensure timely production of quality sugar to avoid delays in pan stage operations.
  • Conduct sampling, inspection, and basic analysis of sugar and molasses streams while maintaining accurate records.
  • Efficiently separate sugar from molasses with minimal losses.
  • Remelt C sugar as required beyond pan stage needs.
  • Monitor syrup, magma, and massecuite stocks, alerting pan stage operators of any abnormalities.
  • Regularly inspect plant equipment and complete maintenance requests.
  • Maintain logs, charts, and any other data collection as required by management.
  • Collaborate with Pan Boilers, Shift Leaders, and other team members as necessary.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness around the fugal station.
  • Provide on-the-job training and assist in evaluating employees in structured training programs when needed.
