We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Residential Care Team at SCC Bucklands Site - North Plympton.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and deliver high-quality nursing care to our clients, working closely with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager.
- Lead and supervise support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care/service plan.
- Assess resident's condition and functional ability, identifying and managing risks, and ensuring optimal use of medications.
- Provide leadership, direction, support, mentoring, and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration staff on each shift.
- Ensure clear and succinct handovers from shift to shift and relevant documentation in the 7-day handover sheet correlates with progress notes, alert notification forms, care plan suggested change forms, and risk management plans.
- Ensure all staff read and comply with all policies, procedures, and work instructions relevant to them.

- Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse.
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) & Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
- At least 1-2 years of experience working as an Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment.
- Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and to write clearly and concisely particularly in progress notes.
- Exceptional time management skills to manage own workload to meet deadlines and to support other staff.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills to balance supporting resident's desire for independence and self-determination against potential risks and duty of care.
- High-level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, including those who display challenging behaviors.
- Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved.
- Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge, including of medicines used in aged care.
- Excellent knowledge of the Aged Care Standards, particularly as they relate to accreditation.
