About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Specialist to join our team at Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for delivering expert technical knowledge and services for underground drilling equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide internal technical assistance to resolve issues for our customers.
  • Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment.
  • Mentoring peers and upskilling our workshop technical knowledge of underground drills.
  • Actively leading major workshop scoped works and machine builds, providing a high level of technical diagnosis and repairs.
  • Performing mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation is not compromised.
  • Providing feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
  • Provide technical support to service personnel, providing high-level technical experience in cases of complex technical issues.
  • Provide relevant feedback to the Workshop Supervisor and relevant stakeholders to enable improvements to the workshop and its capacity.
  • Assist in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims for our local customers.
Requirements
  • A Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate, or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 7 years of post-trade experience in the underground mining sector.
  • Adaptability to remote work environments and varied cultural settings.
  • Familiarity with Sandvik machinery relevant to our operations.
  • A track record in a similar position and the ability to provide technical training to our maintenance personnel and machine operators.
