About the Role

The Senior Podiatrist will provide specialist clinical podiatry services to clients in Cape York communities, focusing on high-risk foot problems.

This role involves delivering generalist podiatry services, including health promotion and preventative strategies, to the wider community.

The position will be based in Cairns with regular outreach visits to Aurukun, Coen, Kowanyama, Lockhart River, and Pormpuraaw communities.

Outreach services will be provided via commercial and charter light aircraft from Cairns on a regular basis.

Face-to-face services will be complemented by telehealth and virtual care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based podiatry services for patients with high-risk foot conditions and diabetes.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop intervention plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes for clients with chronic and complex health conditions.
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Podiatry or equivalent qualification.
  • Current general AHPRA registration.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Australian drivers' licence.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field.
