Waste Management Team Lead

This role is responsible for leading a team of waste collection drivers and ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service to the community of Townsville.

The successful candidate will have experience in supervising staff, managing budgets, and coordinating resources to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Leading and coordinating a large team of Waste and Recycling Truck Drivers
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service to the community of Townsville
  • Service planning, resource allocation, time management, budget management, safety and environmental compliance
  • Recruitment, performance management and managing difficult behaviours
Key Requirements
  • Supervisory experience and/or qualifications in the waste management industry
  • Experience in promoting a positive safety culture and adherence to Health Safety Management Systems
  • Coordinating staff and resources to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with organisational and regulatory standards
  • Knowledge of operational and statutory requirements in waste collection, treatment, transport and disposal practices used in the industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence positive change
  • Problem-solving abilities
