Electrical Automation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Automation Specialist to join our team. This key role plays a vital part in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge across PLCs, SCADA, motor control and instrumentation systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical oversight and support for electrical maintenance and automation functions.
  • Leading the integration and optimisation of advanced automation technologies to improve performance.
  • Partnering with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and enhance asset reliability.
  • Ensuring maintenance practices align with safety-first culture and operational excellence standards.
  • Leading and supervising mechanical maintenance trades at the site, ensuring cross-disciplinary coordination.
  • Overseeing both electrical and mechanical maintenance outcomes, including compliance, asset care and resource planning.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications in Electrical Engineering and/or Automation.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in asset management (e.g. RCM, PMO).
  • Proven experience in leading teams to deliver high equipment reliability and maintenance performance.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Experienced in problem-solving, decision-making, risk management and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Skilled in performance management, process optimisation and proficient in CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
