Transportation Professional - Patient Care Specialist

This is a vital role in providing safe and comfortable transportation services for patients who are not in a life-threatening condition. The job involves driving heavy vehicles, assessing patient needs, and delivering quality care throughout the transport process.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and have a positive outlook with flexibility to adapt to business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Vehicle Operation: Drive heavy vehicles safely and responsibly, prioritizing patient comfort and well-being.
  • Patient Assessment and Care: Assess patient needs and provide immediate first aid care as required, adhering to State Medical Assistance's policies and procedures.
  • Liaison with Healthcare Providers: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient transportation.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records and adhere to relevant clinical guidelines.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the security, safety, and maintenance of allocated equipment and vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Driver's License: Hold a current unrestricted manual driver's license, preferably an NSW manual heavy vehicle drivers license.
  • Good Driving Record: Demonstrate a good driving record.
  • CPR Training: Possess current CPR training and a first aid certificate.
  • Criminal History Check: Undergo a national police check (no older than 3 months).
  • Working with Children Check: Hold a current Working with Children Check for Paid Work.
  • Immunisations: Be up-to-date with a Record of Immunisations.
  • Right to Work: Provide evidence of right to work in Australia.
