Job Summary:

We are seeking a Chief Sustainability Officer to lead the development and execution of our renewable and firming energy portfolio, helping shape Queensland's energy future and driving long-term sustainability.

Candidates should have deep experience in the energy sector and a proven ability to lead complex commercial projects and infrastructure delivery. They will bring insight into Australia's energy transition, regulatory frameworks, and investment environment and have the vision to drive innovation and growth.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in major project development, commercial negotiations and deal origination and completion, and sustainability leadership. They will think at system-level, be financially and analytically astute, and be passionate about delivering a positive legacy through decarbonisation and investment in future-focused energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a robust pipeline of new energy generation, storage, and firming projects
  • Lead delivery of infrastructure and systems to support future energy projects
  • Identify and commercialise new revenue streams and adjacent market opportunities
  • Build and maintain investment partnerships with private sector agencies
  • Oversee corporate strategy and sustainability initiatives, including emissions reduction planning
  • Develop investment-grade business cases for new projects for Board consideration
  • Champion a high-performance, future-focused, and sustainable culture

About You:

You must have tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, law, or a related commercial discipline. Experience in the energy sector and large-scale infrastructure delivery will ensure your success.

  6. Strong business acumen, with experience in financial management and budgeting
