**Job Opportunity:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Specialist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to advance environmental performance improvements in our growing city. The role involves engagement with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating environmental performance engagement and strategy development that addresses urban renewal and growth areas, and developing systems and processes that support sustainable decision making and action within Council.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to advance environmental performance improvements
  • Facilitate collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to drive environmental sustainability
  • Design and implement systems and processes to support sustainable decision making and action

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum degree level qualification in environmental science, urban planning or equivalent
  • Solid experience in an environmental, sustainability or related field
  • Strong capacity in strategy development, policy and program management related to environmental sustainability
  • Proven project management skills with a strong record of achievement in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating programs and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and disseminate environmental knowledge at individual and organisational levels
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
