Job Title: Small Animal Veterinarian

Description:

The University of Adelaide seeks a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. As a Primary Opinion Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing high-quality primary opinion services to a range of small animal patients, including wellness services, dentistry, surgery, imaging, and medicine cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality primary opinion services to small animal patients, including wellness services, dentistry, surgery, imaging, and medicine cases.
• Contribute to clinical teaching and supervision of students by involving them in clinical case management and providing additional learning opportunities.
• Mentor other staff, including interns, locum veterinarians, and veterinary nursing team members.
• Work effectively with a diverse range of clients and team members, demonstrating high-level communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

• Proven veterinary experience in first opinion services.
• Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and experience in assisting, teaching, or mentoring others.
• Demonstrated high-level written communication skills, including the ability to keep detailed, accurate medical records and write professional referral letters and client correspondence.
• Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise work and balance competing deadlines.
