**$3,000 per annum available to spend on your choice of Professional Development.**

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital (RVH). As a unit of the RVH, the Large Animal Hospital offers high quality first opinion and specialist referral equine and large animal veterinary services to the public. The RVH also provides a clinical training environment for final year veterinary and veterinary technology students working under the close supervision of experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses and support staff.
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, you will be part of a close-knit team providing primary opinion and emergency services. Working on a rotating emergency and after-hours roster, you will take responsibility for our in-patients and ambulatory primary opinion. You will have the opportunity to work closely with (and learn from) our team of specialists across all areas of the hospital. You will contribute to clinical teaching and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students by involving them in clinical case management and by providing additional learning opportunities where appropriate. Naturally, this will mean demonstrating the highest standard of clinical and professional behaviour.
As part of the role, you will be a clinical mentor to students, and your high standard of clinical and professional behaviour will provide a valuable professional role model for them. Working with their enthusiasm to get involved with case management, you will help to educate the new generation of veterinarians.
Both our Large and Small Animal Hospitals are accredited by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia. As you would expect from a board-accredited hospital, our facilities and equipment are of the highest standard, with a spacious, modern, purpose-built space. Our hospital is supported by the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, which is located within the same building. This is often invaluable for fast turnaround of clinical pathology reports and direct contact with pathologists for case discussion.
The RVH provides a great environment in which to study for your own ANZCVS membership or similar. Further study and continuing professional development activities are encouraged and supported with time off and up to $3,000 per annum available to spend on your choice of CPD. Other benefits include free full access to international journals through the University Library plus VIN membership.
The RVH is located on the University of Adelaide’s Roseworthy Campus, and is surrounded by great lifestyle opportunities. We are situated on the doorstep of the Barossa Valley, an internationally renowned wine region and a delightful part of the world. We have easy access to beaches, sporting activities, benchmark schools and shopping facilities. There is easy access to the city and its many attractions. Adelaide is known as a cultural centre, with its hugely successful Festival of the Arts, and as a sports-mad destination.
