We're seeking an experienced Associate Water Resources Engineer to lead significant hydrological assessments and water management projects. With a national delivery ethos, you'll have the opportunity to work on large-scale projects across Australia, leveraging existing client relationships, innovation, and expertise.

About the Role

  • Lead project leadership: You'll manage major hydrological assessments and various water management projects across diverse sectors and industries, including renewables, mining, infrastructure, water infrastructure, transport, and waste management.
  • Technical expertise: Bring deep knowledge in scoping, leading technical components of hydrological and surface water investigations, such as rainfall, flow, and flood analyses, flood modeling, flood mapping, risk assessments, water balance studies, water quality assessment, integrated water resources management, and surface water/stormwater management.
  • Growth and innovation: Contribute significantly to the expansion of our Surface Water Practice and the development of water management strategies and surface water impact assessments.
  • National project opportunities: Collaborate with technical teams to leverage existing client relationships, innovation, and expertise, working on large-scale projects across Australia.
  • Exceptional support: Partner with the Surface Water team and benefit from the backing of other leading multi-disciplinary teams across EMM.

What You'll Need

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in hydrology/water engineering or a related field, either as a consultant or in industry, for mining or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate information into solutions.
  • Experience with hydrological, hydraulic, and water balance modeling.
  • A strong scientific or engineering background and understanding of relevant principles.
  • A valid Driver's Licence and excellent driving history.
  • Thorough practical understanding of Australian State-based legislation.
  • Exceptional technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities, working collaboratively in a team to meet project objectives in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge with team members.

The Ideal Candidate

You'll be a passionate and experienced professional with a proven track record in water resource management, looking to take on new challenges and contribute to our dynamic team. A Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) designation will be an advantage.

Location and Salary

This role offers flexibility, with options to work from various locations across Australia, including Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, or Adelaide. The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
