About the Role:

The Residential Care Cook will be responsible for ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals, prepared and served in accordance with Anglicare's standards. This role involves:

  • Coordinating meal production and distribution to meet deadlines.
  • Directing, monitoring, and training subordinate staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Contribution to a hygienic work environment by cleaning and sanitizing equipment, floors, and work areas.
  • Ensuring food quality by checking ingredients, monitoring preparation, handling, cooking, and storage procedures.
  • Leading and working in a cooperative way, participating in staff rotation, and providing on-the-job training.
  • Contributing to the development of a safety culture by reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses to the supervisor.
  • Ensuring Anglicare's Christian values and desired culture are maintained by working in accordance with Anglicare's values.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Workplace Health and Hygiene Qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of food industry experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
