Job Description

The Senior Resource Development Geologist will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of our mining organization. Our ideal candidate possesses recent and relevant regional exploration experience, coupled with a strong understanding of geological modeling, sampling techniques, and reserve and resource estimation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and mentoring field personnel to maintain industry best-practice approaches in geology functions
  • Leading drilling programs and contractors to achieve project objectives
  • Compiling brownfields and resource targets to drive project development forward
  • Liaising with the Resource Modeling Team to ensure accurate data collection and analysis
  • Conducting geological mapping and geochemical sampling to identify new exploration targets
  • Reviewing and improving resource development strategies to maximize returns
  • Contributing to exploration target identification and planning initiatives
  • Collaborating with mine geology site teams to leverage deposit knowledge and drive discovery efforts
  • Logging drill chips and diamond drill core samples
  • Producing technical plans and sections to high standards and specifications
  • Reporting on program status through regular updates and progress reports
  • Providing input to project reviews, resource modeling, and budgeting processes
Requirements

A tertiary-qualified geologist with 7+ years of postgraduate experience is essential for this role. Proficiency in industry-standard mining and GIS software, such as Micromine, Leapfrog, and ArcGIS, is highly valued. A passion for making new discoveries and converting ounces into resources is crucial for success in this position.
