In this position, you will be responsible for researching, compiling, and producing high-quality news stories for our weekday broadcasts. You will work closely with editors and camera operators to ensure timely and accurate delivery of news content.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Research and compile news stories for daily broadcasts
  • Collaborate with editors and camera operators to ensure timely and accurate delivery of news content
  • Develop and implement effective story ideas and angles
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local, national, and international news stories affecting the community
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all news content
  • Meet deadlines through effective time management and prioritization
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • University qualification in journalism with at least one year of experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to compile a ratings-winning bulletin
  • Knowledge of local, national, and international news stories affecting the community
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of media law
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management
