This is a Permanent Full-time role based in Sydney.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a fast-paced team, chasing leads, uncovering facts, and producing compelling television news stories.

Pitch, research, and produce original, high-quality news stories for broadcast.

Work under tight deadlines to deliver clear, accurate, and engaging TV news content.

Report live with confidence on breaking news events.

Take the lead on complex news stories, from concept to broadcast, with minimal supervision.

Proactively source and line up stories, ensuring comprehensive and dynamic coverage.

Cover other newsroom roles as required.

Strong News Judgment

  • A deep understanding of the TV news landscape.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate editorial decisions.

Key Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills—both on-air and behind the scenes.
  • Highly motivated to cultivate contacts, you're not afraid to pick up the phone.
  • Proficiency in non-linear editing systems, with experience in TV news production.
  • Flexibility to work across different shifts, including weekends, to meet newsroom demands.
  • Strong grasp of media law and its application in news reporting.
