About the Role

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will perform a range of imaging examinations and procedures, including ultrasound, to facilitate patient diagnosis and clinical management. The successful candidate will work independently, exercising professional judgment and adhering to contemporary professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of imaging procedures, including ultrasound, to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the selection of imaging protocols and techniques to achieve optimal diagnostic results.
  • Supervise and train less experienced staff in imaging procedures and protocols.
  • Contribute to the design and updating of protocols and guidelines for imaging practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new techniques and advances in imaging.
  • Implement and review quality improvement and quality assurance activities.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, approved by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry.
  • Accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry and registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (if applicable).
