About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our dedicated finance team at Mission Australia. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner in providing essential financial support for grant-funded services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting for grant-funded services, including income and expenditure results, budget and forecasting processes, and financial variances.
  • Grant Management: Manage financial processes related to block grants and acquittal management, ensuring a thorough understanding of business drivers and financial implications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Service Delivery managers and supporting managers to meet financial targets through analysis and reporting, and lead them in budget and forecasting processes with guidance from the Senior Finance Business Partner.
  • Tender Bids and Financial Analysis: Assist with tender bids and financial analysis and modelling within required timeframes, using appropriate decision support tools to ensure all financial impacts are understood and agreed.
  • Budget and Forecast Management: Manage the budget and forecast process in line with guidance from the Senior Finance Business Partner, analysing for completeness and accuracy and seeking resolution to identified issues.
Requirements for Success
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or business-related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: CPA or other recognised finance or business qualification or progress towards it is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent Excel, analysis and modelling skills, with use of Microsoft Dynamics Fin OPS365 (financial system) and Workday Adaptive Planning (Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting system) desirable.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years financial experience managing grant-funded services and/or research grants or employment services.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrated experience working and collaborating effectively with others, ensuring key stakeholders are involved, sharing information and ensuring people are kept informed of progress, changes and issues.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset and excellent time management skills.
