Senior Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a vital role in shaping a privacy-first culture that supports aged care, families, and communities.
Responsibilities:- Advise on data protection laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with State, Federal, and GDPR standards.
- Manage data breaches and stakeholder information requests, providing expert guidance and support.
- Lead Privacy Impact Assessments and collaborate with IT/Cyber teams to ensure robust data protection measures are in place.
- Develop and implement data protection frameworks, policies, and training programs, driving awareness across the organisation.
- Contribute to the Security & Privacy Oversight Committee, helping shape organisational data protection strategy.
- A degree or equivalent experience in data protection, law, or compliance.
- 3+ years in a data protection-focused role, with a strong track record of managing data breaches and developing data protection frameworks.
- Expert knowledge of data protection laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 and GDPR.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with senior stakeholders and colleagues.
