Key Responsibilities:- Manage all payroll tasks within the Australian region, ensuring timely completion and adherence to company policy and procedures.
- Provide expert advice and assistance to employees and the business on payroll-related matters, including taxes, superannuation, allowances, and expenses.
- Process fortnightly payroll, including expense and allowance claims, and file and submit all payroll taxes, superannuation, insurances, and employee benefit-related costs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll electronic files, in collaboration with our third-party payroll service provider.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to maintain company processes and controls over administration of employee compensation.
- Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations for Payroll-related accounts and provide audit support for Payroll-related matters.
- General knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Degree qualified in Payroll & Bookkeeping or Finance is desirable.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' payroll experience within a medium to large-tier organization, with experience with payroll on multi-union agreements.
- Sound understanding of Australian payroll taxation, superannuation, and terminations, including taxation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages, particularly with Word and Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to leverage technology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong initiative with a hands-on approach in addressing day-to-day issues.
- Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written on all employee queries.
- Agile approach towards change to meet business objectives.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to deliver business goals and objectives.
