The RoleWe are seeking a qualified Emergency Care Practice Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. As a vital team member, you will provide high-quality nursing support and ensure all patients that present to the service are given appropriate care in collaboration with the Registered Nurses (RN).
Responsibilities:- Assist the RN in providing high-quality patient care for injuries or illnesses.
- Perform care activities including administering vaccinations, wound care, plastering, and providing patient education.
- Conduct diagnostic tests relevant to the patient's condition as directed by the RN.
- Support with work cover injury management and provide phlebotomy as required.
- Ensure patient care activities are within scope of practice and comply with policies and procedures.
- Support patient services, greeting and assisting patients, monitoring appointment bookings, registering and updating registration details as needed.
- Provide guidance relating to inclusion and exclusion criteria over the phone as required.
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked clinical area, completing administrative tasks such as Medicare billing, coding, and scanning documentation into patient files.
- Document patient information accurately and comprehensively.
- Participate in workplace health and safety practices, reporting incidents and hazards as per policies.
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Desirable experience in primary care settings, focusing on chronic disease management, prevention, and health promotion.
- 3 years direct clinical practice nursing experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments, handle escalations, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- A passion for patient-centered care and a personable approach.
