Job Title: Meat Packaging Specialist

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Meat Packaging Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining operational standards of safety and quality, while supporting a large team in the daily operations of the department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and assembling equipment during setup to ensure efficient and safe operation
  • Rotating merchandise in display cases to high standards, ensuring products are visually appealing and fresh
  • Processing large quantities of product using automatic wrapping machines, adhering to strict quality control measures
  • FOLLOWING ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES at all times to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
  • Labelling merchandise accurately and putting wrapped and labelled merchandise in display cases, ensuring compliance with health codes and regulations
  • Operating meat grinders and following proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency, always prioritizing food safety
  • Cleaning and sanitizing areas throughout the day, adhering to sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitization of equipment
  • FOLLOWING SSOP GUIDELINES FOR PROPER CLEANING AND SANITIZATION OF EQUIPMENT to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
  • Complying with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all Safety Policies required by the warehouse and department
  • Assisting in other departments as necessary, providing support and assistance to colleagues when needed
  • Providing prompt and courteous service to members, employees and vendors, always maintaining a professional demeanor

Position Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, including articulating information clearly and actively listening to others
  • Excellent member service skills, including a professional demeanor and ability to identify problems and find solutions
  • Self-motivation, organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work efficiently and independently
  • A willingness to work as part of a team, performing tasks assigned by supervisors and assisting others as needed
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing circumstances, with the ability to adjust to new situations and priorities
  • Experience handling food products preferred, but not essential for the role
