Heavy Fabrication Project Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Heavy Fabrication Project Lead in a dynamic and growing workshop. As part of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication of heavy projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy fabrication, metalworking, and project management. You will be responsible for coordinating with the team to plan and execute projects, managing resources, and controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate heavy fabrication projects from start to finish
  • Lead a team of skilled fabricators and welders to achieve project goals
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and deliver high-quality results
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations

Requirements:

  • Trade-qualified Boilermaker or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years' post-trade heavy fabrication experience in mining, construction, or infrastructure projects
  • Advanced welding skills in MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux-core to AS/NZS standards
  • Proven ability to work with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium in both heavy-gauge and precision applications
  • Strong track record in reading, interpreting, and fabricating from complex engineering drawings with minimal supervision
  • Expertise in fabrication, plate work, heavy structural assemblies, and CNC applications
  • Commitment to safety leadership, hazard identification, and compliance with SWMS, JSA, and company safety procedures
  • Current NSW White Card, Driver's Licence
