Job Description:

The Clinical Haematology team is seeking a senior medical practitioner to provide clinical leadership and promote patient safety and quality.

The Visiting Medical Officer will deliver specialist services, including assessment and treatment of blood & stem cell transplant patients with post-transplant related gynaecological complications.

Strong clinical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, are required to work within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful applicant will have experience in quality assurance activities, evidence-based best practice, teaching and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality specialist care
  • Provide safe and effective patient outcomes
  • Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care
  • Participate in risk management, safety and quality programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANCOG)
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices
  • Sound clinical knowledge in assessment and treatment of blood & stem cell transplant patients
  • Teaching and supervision expertise
