Wine Connoisseur Opportunity

We seek an experienced Wine Connoisseur to enhance our fine dining restaurant's wine experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain our wine inventory, cellar, and storage areas.
  • Present guests with wine lists, provide recommendations, and ensure food and wine pairings.
  • Attend to guests' wine needs, including tastings, pouring, refilling wine glasses, and answering questions.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the wine list, menu pairings, and all other beverages offered.
  • Drive wine sales to guests, guiding them through the wine list and making personalized recommendations based on preferences and menu selections.
  • Ensure the wine list remains current and wine menus are up-to-date and presentable.
  • Maintain wine stock, inventory levels, and cleanliness in both the storeroom and restaurant.
  • Participate in team knowledge sharing and professional growth opportunities.
  • Foster healthy relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining restaurant.
  • Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • RSA Certificate required.
  • Excellent presentation and leadership skills.
  • WSET or equivalent qualifications.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
