Role Overview

Position Summary:

The Head Teacher Secondary Studies will focus on supporting Stage 6 students, coordinating and monitoring NESA and DoE requirements to drive academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead teachers in implementing high-impact teaching strategies to support student achievement
  • Effectively manage, coordinate, and monitor NESA and DoE assessment requirements for Stage 6
  • Proven ability to mentor and support students to maximize engagement and leadership
  • Collaborate with the school's Executive team to support effective implementation of the Strategic Improvement Plan

Selection Criteria:

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
