Senior Cultural Heritage Project Coordinator

The Australian government has committed to reducing crash severity and frequency through initiatives such as wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking, intersection upgrades, rest areas, pavement strengthening, overtaking lanes, and upgrades to narrow structures.
A key role in this initiative is the Senior Cultural Heritage Officer, who provides expert guidance on cultural heritage matters to support road and infrastructure projects.
This position ensures projects remain compliant with state legislation while minimising delays. The officer will provide strategic cultural heritage advice to the department, identify sites of cultural heritage significance, assess potential operational risks, and lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Providing advice to project delivery teams
- Managing cultural heritage services provided by consultants
- Project managing the regional Cultural Heritage Element
- Developing and implementing an engagement framework for regular and structured engagement with Traditional Owner groups
