About Occupational Therapy Opportunities

Southern NSW Local Health District covers a large area of the southern half of New South Wales, surrounding the Australian Capital Territory on three sides and extending to the Victorian border.

The region includes the picturesque Great Dividing Range and the spectacular Snowy Mountains, as well as the pristine beaches of the NSW South Coast and the farmlands of the Southern Tablelands.

As an occupational therapist in this region, you will have access to outdoor activities, cultural events, and a relaxed pace of life.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Allied Health Professional is a key member of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing quality occupational therapy services to patients/clients of the SNSW Local Health District.

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Extensive broad generalist knowledge, clinical proficiency, and ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work/caseload across a regional area.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead planning and evaluation of team activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and coordinate staff and student supervision.
  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires.
Requirements

This position requires Category 'A' status, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015 All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
