Risk Analyst Opportunity

Avant Mutual Group is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our team in the 1st Line Risk area. This role will involve providing tailored support in 1st Line of Defence Risk capabilities for the business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Compliance functions and implementing sound risk management practices in line with the Operational Risk Framework.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating periodic risk assessments, supporting control owners to improve the design and operating effectiveness of the control environment.
  • Identifying and capturing incidents, including performing risk assessments, root cause analysis and supporting action plans.
  • Tracking and managing open action items, providing guidance and support to address them appropriately.
  • Maintaining vendor/contracts and policies registers.
  • Supporting the team in preparing risk reporting and governance forums.

To be successful, you'll need relevant tertiary qualifications, financial services experience, understanding of Operational Risk Management Frameworks, strong stakeholder management skills, financial acumen, commercial thinking, excellent written and verbal communication, ability to work independently, project and time management skills, and intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency.
