Job Title: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering
Job Summary:
The University of Adelaide's School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering is seeking a strong and dedicated researcher and educator at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer specialising in Aerospace Engineering.
About the Role:
This is a continuing (tenure-track) academic role that will work closely with our active academic in the fields of dynamics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental aerodynamics, clean energy and other related areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in Aerospace Engineering and contribute to the School's research strengths in experimental, design, and numerical modelling of next-generation aerospace technologies, fluid processes in aerospace applications and clean energy processes.
- Teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student engagement and contribute to the development of curriculum.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in English with both students and staff.
- Work as part of a team and assert a positive influence on School culture.
- Carry out administrative duties, as directed by the Head of School, effectively and efficiently.
- Commit to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and contribute to the diversity of the School community.
Requirements:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent, with expertise in the aerospace engineering research area.
- Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths.
- Record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality refereed journals or conference proceedings.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to carry out administrative duties.
- Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
Senior Lecturer Requirements:
- Substantial record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality refereed journals or conference proceedings.
- Demonstrated ability to win significant research funding.
- Substantial record of success in effective teaching using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student engagement and as lecturer/course coordinator.
- Record of successful curriculum development or pedagogical innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students.
