The role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Teaching & Research involves strengthening Education-Focused academic capacity in the Discipline of Critical Care across the School, fostering excellence in clinical education and supporting the next generation of medical professionals.

This position is vital to the delivery and sustainability of the Discipline of Critical Care teaching program and the successful implementation of the Undergraduate Medicine Program Redesign. The incumbent will ensure consistent, high-quality teaching, coordination, and curriculum development across the St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses and in the School of Clinical Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally.
  • Contribute significantly to achieving the teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty.

A Lecturer (Level B) is expected to conduct high-quality research and make a significant contribution to educational excellence in the School and Faculty. A Senior Lecturer (Level C) will conduct high-quality research and make a significant contribution to educational excellence in the School and Faculty.

Requirements
  • Hold a PhD in a related discipline, or have relevant work experience.
  • Be medically qualified and registered in NSW with specialist training preferably in a Critical Care field.
  • Have a proven commitment to keeping up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Have demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using various pedagogical approaches, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence, as well as the ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
