**Role Overview:**

We are seeking a Student Support Officer to provide case management and support to students experiencing complex issues.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until July 2026. The successful candidate will work in a team offering support to students with serious or complex needs.

The role involves using a range of approaches and interventions, including intake assessment, case management, advice, and information, health promotion, and behavioral education programs.

You will work collaboratively with other teams within the university portfolio to achieve positive student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Team Leader, working as a member of a high-performing team.
  • Provide case management to students addressing accommodation, reporting to authorities, and internal university processes.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure a positive student experience.
  • Assist in developing and delivering wellbeing events, campaigns, and training.
  • Work with administrative and academic staff to ensure students are aware of guidance and support services.
  • Assess students' needs in line with legislation and promote student wellbeing and success.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in an applicable field, such as counseling, psychology, or social work.
  • Proven experience in providing guidance to university students/staff who have experienced various situations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory obligations affecting students with mental health issues.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment.
