Job Opportunity

The tertiary supervisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the professional experience component of teacher education students.

As a tertiary supervisor, you will work closely with pre-service teachers to monitor their progress while they are working at a school to fulfill their professional experience course requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Regularly monitoring the progress of the pre-service teacher while they are working at a school.
  • Arranging visits to discuss the pre-service teacher's progress with them and their mentor teacher(s).
  • Observing at least one lesson taught by the pre-service teacher, completing a lesson evaluation form, and debriefing afterwards.
  • Acting on any matters of concern to the pre-service teacher or the host school.
  • Clarifying issues relating to assessments to be completed during the professional experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Practicing Christian with active church involvement.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Completion of a bachelor's or master's degree in teaching.
  • Previous experience in a teaching position at a school or early childhood education center.
  • Previous experience supervising teachers in schools and/or early learning centers.
  • Understanding of the mission of vocational and higher education in Christian schools and/or early learning centers.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and/or the ACECQA National Quality Standards.
  • Proven leadership, people, and communication skills.
  • Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels.
  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills.
  • Commerciality: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner.
  • Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required.
