About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Project Officer to join our team at Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA). As a key member of our Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policies that support the growth and sustainability of the aquaculture industry in South Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a comprehensive literature review of Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture (IMTA) to inform the development of national policy guidelines.
  • Provide expert advice to the project team on IMTA and its applications in Australian aquaculture.
  • Develop a national policy guideline to support the development, implementation, management, and uptake of IMTA and ecologically sustainable growth in Australian aquaculture.
  • Identify gaps in knowledge and potential opportunities for further research in the field of IMTA.
  • Examine how to embed the national IMTA policy guidelines into the regulatory framework for the South Australian aquaculture industry.
Requirements
  • Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required.
  • Out of hours work and inter/intrastate travel may be required.
  • You acknowledge your work, health, and safety obligations and our expectations.
  • Desirable: An appropriate qualification at a tertiary level in law, marine science, natural resource management, or a related field.
