Customer Service and Support Officer Job Description

The Housing Industry Association is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Customer Service and Support Officer to join their team in Queensland.

The purpose of this role is to strengthen the organization by providing sales, service, and support activities to members, customers, stakeholders, and partners for the Queensland region.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales and Service Activities:
    • Identify new business opportunities and provide local information to promote HIA products and services to members and prospective members.
    • Maintain membership databases and provide administrative support to the Queensland membership team to ensure continued growth and retention of HIA members.
  • Membership Retention:Engage with members to increase Associate members to the organization, receive and process renewal payments by existing members, and achieve retention targets for first year members by implementing plans to keep those members engaged.
  • HIA Shop Sales and Stationery Support:
    • Deliver quality customer outcomes, follow up on phone and online inquiries, and promote HIA products and services to current and prospective members.
    • Participate in opportunities to promote HIA's stationery business and products, enter sales, orders, and activities into CRM systems, and assist with coordination and implementation of advertising and promotional programs for HIA stationery and products.
    • Manage stock levels, process stationery orders and payments when necessary, accepting stock deliveries.
  • Regional Service Support:
    • Participate in the National Reception Group to take inbound phone calls for any region and support inbound callers on their queries.
    • Attend to local office counter enquiries and direct to appropriate staff members.
    • Coordinate general office activities, including ordering office supplies, maintaining office equipment, property maintenance, data entry, invoicing, banking, petty cash, Mail Log, EFTPOS Batch sheet records, and liaise with stationery agents.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Administration, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Drive and commitment to achieving results via a hands-on approach.
  • Professional presentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team environment.
  • Computer literate with solid experience with using MS Office.
  • Adaptability to the needs of the business.
