We're seeking a dedicated professional to join our interdisciplinary team as a Developmental Educator. This role presents an unparalleled opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities, their families, and support teams.

About the Role:

In this pivotal position, you'll collaborate with participants and their key supporters to develop new skills and habits, problem-solve challenges, and champion social model practices. As a seasoned practitioner, you'll work alongside habit coaches (allied health assistants) to provide evidence-based support and foster strong working relationships.

Your expertise will be invaluable in enhancing people's capacity to make informed life choices, increasing independence, and promoting quality-of-life outcomes. You'll approach risk positively, ensuring safeguards are in place to protect vulnerable individuals' rights and well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments using our LEAD evidence-based assessment tool.
  • Liaise with the interdisciplinary team to wrap appropriate supports around participants and their families.
  • Support individuals in their everyday environments – home, work, school, or community.
  • Capacity build support teams to create capable environments.
  • Attend peer group supervision/mentoring and professional learning to enhance expertise and skills.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and share impactful stories.
  • Engage in reflective practice to develop evidence-based plans.
The Ideal Candidate:

To succeed in this role, you'll possess a Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability (or equivalent), be eligible for DEAI membership, and have experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. Your passion for removing barriers using the social model of therapy, empathy, and strong advocacy skills will be essential in making a tangible difference.

You'll also need to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check and hold a valid driver's license.
