Sussex Neighbourhood House has been a cornerstone of the community since 1991, providing lifelong learning and social activities with over 70 diverse programs and 100+ volunteers.

We are seeking passionate individuals to join our governance team, working closely with our management team to ensure the organization remains a thriving space for all.

Key Opportunity - Treasurer Role

We are particularly looking for a Treasurer to bring financial oversight and strategic insight to our governance team. This role involves collaborating with fellow committee members and staff to ensure sound financial management, sustainability, and growth of our community programs.

Treasurer Responsibilities
  • Attend bi-monthly governance meetings to provide strategic direction and oversight.
  • Support financial governance, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Help shape the future of the organization as a welcoming and inclusive community hub.
Key Opportunity - Secretary Role

We are also seeking a Secretary to ensure smooth governance processes and effective communication within our team. This role is essential in supporting transparency, compliance, and coordination across activities.

Secretary Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and relevant documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of governance business and decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with governance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for governance correspondence.
