Job Summary

This is a senior, full-time role focused on providing expert engineering input into transport infrastructure projects to meet community needs.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on concept designs, briefs, and project coordination for capital works.

About the Role

You will provide expert advice grounded in best-practice transport design, standards, and Council policies. You will assist in developing concept designs that respond to real user needs, prepare and review detailed design briefs to guide internal and external teams, and collaborate across the team, coach and support other teammates.

You will also review civil engineering design plans to ensure compliance with relevant standards, ensuring value for money for the community, certify engineering designs as an expert in your field, and possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transport infrastructure projects that meet community needs.
  • Provide expert advice on transport design, standards, and Council policies.
  • Assist in developing concept designs that respond to real user needs.
  • Prepare and review detailed design briefs to guide internal and external teams.
  • Collaborate across the team, coach and support other teammates.
  • Review civil engineering design plans to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or ability to obtain within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
