Clinical Leader in Mental Health

The Mental Health Virtual Care Centre (MHVCC) is a district-wide service delivering a time-limited, evidence-based mental health rehabilitation program through a flexible mix of virtual and face-to-face care.
This innovative model of care empowers participants to strengthen their mental health, build resilience, and develop practical skills and support systems to improve daily functioning, quality of life, and overall independence.
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our skilled multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the MHVCC, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, tailored interventions, and collaborative care planning in line with NICE Guidelines for Mental Health Rehabilitation.
You will work closely with occupational therapy, nursing, and peer support staff to shape recovery pathways and support participants to achieve meaningful, sustainable outcomes in their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service
- Contribute to the development of recovery pathways and support participants to achieve meaningful, sustainable outcomes
- Work collaboratively with occupational therapy, nursing, and peer support staff to deliver high-quality care
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements
- Proven capacity and/or experience in providing effective high-quality service in the specialty
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research relevant to the role and needs of the Department
