Energy Market Expert

We are seeking an experienced Energy Market Expert to provide insights and recommendations on renewable energy projects. This role involves market analysis, asset optimisation, and commercial strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

We require an expert with advanced financial modelling skills, knowledge of PPA structures, NEM dynamics, and renewable asset valuations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile, analyse, and interpret market curves, spot pricing trends, and broader pricing dynamics within Australia's wholesale and renewable electricity markets.
  • Gather, synthesise, and present market intelligence by integrating supply-demand fundamentals, regulatory developments, and emerging energy technologies.
  • Build robust financial and valuation models to inform commercial strategy, support investment cases, and optimise returns.
Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced financial modelling (Excel, Python, or R), data analysis, and market forecasting.
  • Experience with PPA structures, NEM dynamics, and renewable asset valuations.
  • Knowledge of pricing structures, energy policy, market regulation, and risk assessment in the Australian context.

Soft Skills:

  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong stakeholder management, capable of building collaborative working relationships.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and commercial acumen.
